REVIEW
Q : Shane, please briefly tell us about you, your company, your products and services:
A : First of all, we're flattered to be featured by MorningPrint. Thank you!

I'm an entrepreneur, husband and father of four. I've started eight businesses over the past 10 years and successfully sold two. One my companies was recognized as the 17th fastest growing company in the country in 2012 (Inc 500).

In 2012 I partnered with Nate Zaugg, a brilliant software engineer, and we started Mindfire Consulting Group. We have one of the most exciting businesses ever as we get to build some of the coolest products on the planet for our clients. We've recently rebranded the company as Mindfire Technology to better reflect our services.

We have found that most companies don't have either the technical skills or resources necessary to complete all of their high-priority software projects. We help them build enterprise-level software quicker, and often for less money, than if they were to do it themselves. We offer custom software design and/or build, staff augmentation, software consulting, and other contracting services in the software space.
Q : You decided to go with a die cut shape, what was your reason for this? Were you initially thinking of a uniquely shaped card?
A: :We're kind of obsessed with branding and especially with business card design. Our goal was to have a card that would get a reaction from people when we gave it to them. I believe card shape helps a ton. I was initially interested in a completely custom die cut shape, but the costs are considerably high, and we felt like your custom shapes would still do the trick. Mission accomplished! Nearly every time I give a business card to someone they stare at it for an abnormally long period of time and usually make a complimentary remark.
Q : Have you used Spot UV before? How did you determine what area the Spot UV would be coated with?
A: I've never used Spot UV before, but I was intent to use it on this business card. In fact, we found MorningPrint as we were searching for print companies that provide Spot UV printing. Spot UV gives a 3rd dimension to artwork. In the design process, we wanted to subtly accentuate specific areas of our card without stealing from the existing design elements. We also wanted to be subtle in our messaging about the different technologies we code with. This led us to creating a word cloud on the back of the card, printed with Spot UV.
Q : How do you determine what information you will include in your design?
A: It's a collaborative process, most definitely. My partner and I are extremely particular about design (that's the nice way of saying we're both very opinionated). We created several prototypes throughout the process and sent the best ones to all our friends, family and co-workers for feedback before settling on the current design. Choosing what information we included in our design came as a result of a lot of feedback and iteration.
Q : Any tips for our clients to consider when they are creating their business cards?
A: Yes. Your business card is the first chance your customer has to physically see the quality of the work your company performs. Make sure your card tells the customer what they can expect when working with your organization (without writing it all out). If you truly want to stand out, use thicker stock, custom die shapes, unique texture or Spot UV, etc. Your card is a marketing piece...make sure it screams quality!
Q : Any other products or finishing options you are considering for your next order?
A: MorningPrint has a ton of great finishing options. Our next round will likely include Spot UV, die-cut and possibly embossing. I also really like your plastic cards.
Q : How was your experience with MorningPrint? Did you experience any difficulties when using MorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient?
A: Our experience with MorningPrint was fantastic! The upload process was easy to understand, delivery speeds were surprisingly fast considering the cards were coming from Korea, and above all, the product is super high quality and exactly what we wanted/expected. I've already referred other colleagues your way.
